Chase H.Q Custom Build (チェイスH.Q)

Updated: Jan 6, 2021

Game - Chase H.Q

Developer - Taito

Release year - 1987

Model construction -

Italeri Porsche 928 S4 (Tony Gibson and Raymond Broady's Police Porsche 928)

Release date - 1988

Pretty standard build with this one using Tamiya spray paints and pots. A small modification was made using the Dremel to add a LED red light to the roof of the car. The car was painted black which matches the game. When I was looking up the various photos of reference material for this car in Chase H.Q you notice that the car was quite often coloured dark blue. A TAITO licence plate was also added to the rear of the car.

Nichimo Lotus Esprit (Stage 1 Criminals Car)

Release date 199X

I went with the iconic stage 1 'White British Sports Car' as called out over the radio by Nancy at Chase Headquarters.

To make this scene the right door was cut out and positioned open. A rear window shade was also made from scratch and painted light grey.

The best part of this car build was making the flames for the rear of the car and lighting them up with LED's. The flame was made using layers of hot glue and then I purchased a fire 3 LED light kit from eBay to sit behind the hot glue flame. Below is a little video of the effect. I think it came out pretty great for a first attempt.

Chase HQ custom figures made using Fujimi Drivers Set.

This was my first attempt at making custom figures, but I think the end result came out pretty cool. The figures represent Police Officers Tony Gibson, Raymond Broady and Ralph, the Idaho Slasher!!!!
